What is Gap Analysis?
Gap analysis is a tool that allows you to view your complete order history right from our website and identifies gaps in your collection. Your purchasing history can be ranked according to bestselling titles in over 5,000 libraries, making it a powerful tool for collection development.
How do I use the Gap Analysis tool?
The tool can be used in two different ways on our website. Start by logging in.
1. View as you Browse
As you browse our catalog, you will notice that a field labeled "Order History" appears across from each line item. If you are logged in, the quantity that appears in that field is the number of copies your account has purchased from BOT.

2. Download a Spreadsheet
Download a spreadsheet anywhere you see a "Download Gap Analysis" link throughout the catalog. You'll notice an "Holdings" column next to each title. Titles are sorted in bestselling order. NOTE: Order history is defined as the total number of copies of a title purchased from BOT. Order History excludes orders that have not yet shipped from our warehouse.
